A father and son have been charged with harassment and intimidation, and another man with causing an explosion likely to endanger life, after a series of morning raids.
Detectives executed warrants at addresses in Weeds Wood, Chatham, on Tuesday, and arrested six men on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment and other offences.
After questioning two of the men, an 18 and 20-year-old from Chatham were released without charge.
Detectives were give more time to question the other four and on Wednesday evening, a 19-year-old man, also from Chatham, was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment, conspiracy to cause an explosion and witness intimidation. He was later released without charge.
Terry Dean Goodearl, 46, of Pimpernel Way, Chatham, was charged with harassment without violence.
His son Dean Terry Goodearl, 22, of Mountbatten Avenue, Chatham, was charged with intimidation of a witness.
Mark Lee Marchant, 27, also of Pimpernel Way was charged with causing an explosion likely to endanger life.
The trio, who were remanded in custody on Wednesday night, were due to at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday .
The explosion relates to an alleged incident when an airbed was blown up on wasteland in Yarrow Road, Chatham, on Wednesday, July 29.
No one was injured.
