A banned driver who got behind the wheel has been disqualified from the road for another nine months and ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Bobby Brooks, 25, was caught driving a Vauxhall Astra in Chatham when he was disqualified after being given a 12-month ban in November 2021 for drug-driving.
Brooks, of no fixed address, was spotted by police behind the wheel in Salisbury Road, Chatham, in June this year.
When he was seen stopping in the road they went over to him and Brooks admitted to an officer he should not have been driving.
He was charged with driving while disqualified and without insurance and admitted both offences when he appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on December 8.
Deputy District Judge Sundeep Pankhania heard Brooks was about half-way through his ban when he was caught driving.
The court also heard the former drainage engineer, who was currently out of work but should be starting a new role next year and suffered with ADHD and anxiety, was driving his brother's car on the day he got stopped.
The vehicle was seized by police and later scrapped.
Brooks was given another ban of nine months and was placed on a 12-month community order which will see him carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. He received no separate penalty for the no insurance offence.
Judge Pankhania said: "This is serious. You are starting to get a bad driving record.
"If you come back before me, I will send you to prison."
