Fans of the Sunday night period drama Call the Midwife can learn what life was like on the set at the Historic Dockyard Chatham.

This autumn the tourist attraction is continuing its Call the Midwife tours because they have been so popular.

The 80-acre site was transformed into 1950s Poplar Docks in east London and other locations for the filming of all three series and its two Christmas specials.

Many of the Dockyard buildings can be seen in the BBC show.

During the tours, visitors are greeted by their very own ‘midwife’.

They are taken on a guided one and half hour tour of the various filming locations.

They can trace the bicycle tracks of Chummy, Jenny, Trixie and friends along the cobbles and stories are told what it was like to be an extra on the set.
