Parents of the little girl who was savaged by a dog in a park have thanked the lifesavers who helped out.
They have released a statement, two days after the youngster was bitten in a Medway park.
Suspect Michael Thornton was arrested along with a teenage girl and a woman after 18-month-old Victoria Resetnjova was mauled by the pitbull-type dog in Jenkins Dale, Chatham.
The trio, all from Chatham, were questioned by officers but have now been released on bail while the investigation continues.
The parents said: "We would like to thank all the emergency services and others who helped our daughter by giving first aid at the scene.
"We are also grateful for the continued support of the hospital where she is being treated. The incident has ruined our lives and the lives of our two children.
‘"We ask that people now respect our privacy and give us time to focus on the well-being of our family."
Earlier, a picture emerged of the young victim, who remains in hospital in a "very serious" condition.
The image, which was taken at Sun Pier in Chatham, was posted on Facebook last month by her mother Valentina with the caption "daughter" and a love heart emoji.
The tot was attacked in front of several horrified children who reportedly tried to fight the animal off.
The dog was restrained and shot dead by armed police as the little girl was flown to St George's Hospital in London in a critical condition.
She suffered serious head wounds, but her injuries are no longer thought to be life-threatening.

Thornton, 26, and the unnamed teenager, both from Chatham, were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of offences under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
The following day, a Chatham woman was arrested.
All three have now been bailed while the investigation continues.
Police say they have called in an expert and will be carrying out a post-mortem examination on the dog to try and establish its breed.
Anyone who witnessed the attack or who has information is asked to call police on 01634 792209, quoting reference 04-1003.
