Man arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after car crashed into four parked vehicles and overturned in Richmond Road, Gillingham

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car crashed into four parked vehicles and overturned.

Officers were called to Richmond Road, Gillingham just after 2.30am this morning (August 1).

The police say arrangements were made to recover the overturned car.

Three fire engines attended to assist the police and ambulance service.

Crews assessed and treated four people at the scene, two of which were then taken to the Medway Maritime Hospital for further medical care.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and taken to hospital as a precaution.

The 26-year-old man from Rochester was later bailed to return to the police station on 7 October, pending further investigation.
