Man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after five hurt in St Stephens Hill crash in Canterbury

Five ambulances were called after a car overturned in an early-morning crash which left five people injured.

Three full-sized ambulances attended, plus an ambulance car and an air ambulance car with medics inside, following the crash at at St Stephen's Hill in Canterbury at 2.20am today.

It's believed the car hit a tree before ending up on its roof.

Three of the injured were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. A woman in her 20s was said to have head and other minor injuries; a man in his 20s had injuries including those to his hand and another man of the same age suffered a leg fracture.

Two others were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital. They included a woman in her 20, whose injuries included shoulder wounds, and another woman, whose injuries are not known.

A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving, and the road was re-opened at 5am.
