Police forced a van off the road after its driver fled the vehicle whilst it was still moving.

Officers took emergency action to prevent a head-on crash following the dramatic incident in Snodland this evening.

The driver had initially been spotted driving without a seatbelt but the incident quickly escalated.

Police performed a 'tactical stop' after the driver jumped from the vehicle while it was still in drive.

He was later apprehended and reported on suspicion of multiple offences.
