A driver was injured in a single vehicle crash on the M2 this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene between junction two for Rochester and three for Maidstone at 1.45pm.

Some reports suggested a lorry was also involved but it is believed the driver of the HGV had in fact stopped to shield the injured motorist.

One lane of three is closed while the incident is dealt with but traffic is still moving well.

Paramedics are on scene dealing with minor injuries.

South East Coast Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
