Drivers face a six-mile diversion as a major route is set to be shut for maintenance work.
The Medway Tunnel – linking Strood and Gillingham – will be closed overnight on Monday until Saturday.
Restrictions on the busy route will be in place from 8pm until 5.45am.
Motorists will be sent on a huge diversion route through the Chatham, Rochester, Strood and Frinsbury to avoid the closure.
Advance warning signs have been displayed advising drivers of the closure on approach roads to the tunnel.
Maintenance closures occur every three months, usually in March, June, September and December.
