M2 delays after five-vehicle crash between Stockbury Roundabout and Hoath Way, Gillingham

Drivers faced lengthy delays after a pile-up involving five vehicles on the M2 this morning.

One lane was closed due to the accident London-bound between Junction 5, at the Stockbury Roundabout, and Junction 4 at Hoath Way in Gillingham.

All traffic was then held for a short time while vehicles were recovered.

The road had fully reopened by 9am but residual delays remain.

A police spokesperson confirmed officers attended just before 8am after reports of a five-vehicle crash.

An ambulance was also spotted on its way to the scene.

No injuries were reported and highways officers are currently dealing with the recovery of one of the vehicles.
