A drug dealer has been sentenced to 30 months in prison after police found over £1400 worth of class A drugs in his flat.

Police were patrolling the Bryant Street area in Chatham when they spotted Kieron Daley-Bryant, 26 of Paget Street, Gillingham, walking towards a group of known drug users.

When he noticed the officers watching him Daley-Bryant tried to change his path to look less suspicious.

However officers stopped him and he agreed to let them search his near-by flat.

On entering the property police saw over £1400 worth of cocaine and heroin on full display.

Daley-Bryant was immediately arrested.

He was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday October, 18 to 30 months in prison for possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Richard Sears said: "This is another example of local officers using their local knowledge to identify drug dealers and bring them to justice.

"A significant amount of class A drugs were uncovered which will now be destroyed. Had it not been for the officers’ intervention, I have no doubt the substances were going to be sold on Medway’s streets.

"There is no place in Medway for the sale of illegal drugs and Kent Police is committed to identifying offenders and bringing offenders to justice."
