Arrest after Audi with three blown-out tyres pulled over in Chatham

An Audi with three blown-out tyres was pulled over by police following reports of bad driving.

A suspected drug driver was later arrested for four offences – including driving without a licence and insurance.

At midday on Thursday, September 21, police received a report of bad driving in Maidstone Road, Rochester.

It was alleged that a dark grey Audi was being driven on three flat tyres.

Patrols conducted a search of the area and located the car on the A2045 Walderslade Woods road.

A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, and careless driving.

A police spokesman said: “A driver was stopped 'attempting' to drive a vehicle with three blown out and shredded tyres.

“After giving false details and a positive result for cocaine, he was arrested.”

The man has since been bailed to a police station until November 24.
