Detectives investigating a vicious attack in which a householder was hit with a bat have released e-fits of men they are hunting.
A 21-year-old man was set upon in the back garden of his house in Spitfire Close, Chatham, when he went to investigate loud noises.
He was confronted by two men, one of whom hit him on the back of the legs with what is thought to have been a bat, and suffered a small puncture wound to the knee.
Police are still trying to establish exactly what caused the wound, so are unable to say if a knife was used.
Now officers have released computer-generated images of two men they would like to speak to over the attack.
One of the men is said to be in his late teens, black, 6ft and of average build. He was wearing a dark tracksuit, white trainers and a NY baseball cap.
The second man was white, about the same height and of average build in his late 20s. He was wearing a dark tracksuit, white trainers and a dark hat.
The attack happened at about 10pm on Monday, March 14, but details have only just been released by police.
DC Pete Leeming said: "This was an aggressive and unprovoked assault and we are keen for anyone with information to come forward.
"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may recognise the men in these images as we believe that they will be able to help with our on-going investigation.
"Fortunately, the victim did not suffer serious injuries, but he was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital as a precaution."
Anyone with information should call police on 01634 792 425 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
