Appeal after elderly man robbed in car park by Razorbill Close, Strood

An elderly man was taken to hospital after he was robbed in Strood.

The man, aged 86, was walking along Bligh Way, towards Albatross Avenue at around 11.45am yesterday, when he was approached by a man in the car park by Razorbill Close.

The man told him his jacket needed cleaning and the victim's wallet, containing around £300 was stolen.

As the man tried to stop the suspect he fell over, sustaining minor injuries.

He was then taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

The suspect was described as white, aged in his late 20s to early 30s with a slim build and over 6 ft tall.

He was wearing a grey tracksuit top and bottoms.

It was reported he spoke with a foreign accent.
