A man's body has been found in woodland on the Hoo Peninsula.
The grim discovery was made at Cliffe Woods at about 4.30pm yesterday when police, ambulance crews and a fire engine were called to Town Road in the village.
Kent Police say the body is that of a 61-year-old Medway man, and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
His next of kin have been informed.
Eye witnesses reported several police cars in a field next to woodland.
Officers cordoned off the area and a fire engine with a ladder was later seen close to the woods, just before 7pm.
A report has been prepared for the coroner.
