Emergency services called to Maritime Way, Chatham following concerns for person’s welfare

Emergency services descended on a major route after concerns were raised for a woman’s welfare.

Several police cars, ambulances and a fire engine were seen parked in Maritime Way, Chatham, at around 9.10pm yesterday evening.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.10pm on Sunday, March 30 to concerns for the welfare of a person in Maritime Way, Chatham.

“Officers attended with other emergency services.

“They were passed into the care of health professionals.”

A woman was seen being led into an ambulance.

The road heading into the Medway Tunnel was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
