DETECTIVES in Chatham dealing with the murder of a Kent doctor have been so inundated with work, they have called in help from Essex Police.
Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was stabbed to death on the driveway of her Dartford home last month as she set off to work.
The investigation is being led from the major crime unit at Chatham’s former police station.
Officers have now been drafted in from Essex Police to help with the investigation as detectives working on the case are needed on other inquiries.
Kent Chief Constable Mike Fuller said police are dealing with 15 murder investigations in the county.
Speaking in a radio interview, he said: “We’ve had a huge number of murder investigations.
“We’ve got a total of about 15 at the moment on the go, so it’s quite a challenge for our major crime unit.”
