Dachshund missing from Watts Meadow, Rochester

A family have launched a desperate appeal for help to find their 18-month-old dachshund after he went missing during a walk three days ago.

Archie, who is owned by nine-year-old Lola Watts, was last seen near Watts Meadow, Rochester at 4.30pm on Saturday.

Mum Leila Behn says her daughter has been left "very upset" by Archie's disappearance.

She said: "My partner Alistair Watts was walking Archie in Watts Meadow with our other dog, Nala.

"He ran away, crossed the road and ran into Priestfields playing fields at around 2.30pm.

"At around 4.30pm he was spotted running across Maidstone Road near the Shell garage and then again by the tennis courts near Kidszone.

"From there he ran into Horsted Valley."

The 37-year-old said the family picked up the little dog on September 6, from Broadstairs.

She continued: "We brought Archie for our daughter and she is very upset.

"He's a friendly dog but he might be nervous while he is alone.

"If you see him, approach Archie slowly and bring treats with you."
