MASSIVE clouds of dense black smoke billowed from a farm rubbish dump which caught fire at around noon today.

Car tyres, oil drums and an old car were caught up in the blaze.

Fire crews had difficulty in locating the fire because of its remote location, close to Ranscombe Farm, Cuxton, near Rochester, away from main highways.

A Fire and Rescue spokesman said it would take a long time to damp down the blaze, because of the nature of the materials alight.
