Female witness to attack sought

A woman who might have witnessed an unprovoked attack in Rochester is being urged to come forward.

Detectives believe she could have seen an assault in which two men were punched and kicked in St Margaret’s Bank.

The pair, aged 27 and 32, suffered bruising and cuts, with one taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment.

Police believe a woman nearby at the time of the incident might witnessed the assault.

Details of the attack, which happened at about 2am on Friday, March 11, have only just been released.

DC Graham Leighton said: "We are appealing for this woman to come forward to assist us in identifying the two men who carried out this unprovoked assault.

"Similarly, if anybody else witnessed the incident or has information which may assist us with our investigation we ask that they contact us as a priority."

Anyone with information is asked to phone Kent Police on 01634 792546 or CrimeStoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
