A big crowd turned out in Strood last night to get in the festive spirit as the town's Christmas lights were switched on.
As part of the big switch on of Medway's lights, a whole host of entertainment helped put everyone in the mood for the season of goodwill.
The kmfm team presented live music, dancers and plenty more besides at Friary Place on the High Street, as the countdown to the illuminations got under way.
Sponsors Specsavers handed out glow sticks and there were some familiar TV characters from Cocomelon taking to the stage too.
Cllr Jan Aldous, Mayor of Medway, also joined in the fun.
And the big switch-on continues over the coming days.
Tonight, Chatham's lights will be switched on at 5pm.
It will be at Military Square, in Military Road, and both the mayor and kmfm presenters will be there.
Family entertainment will be going on from 3.45pm and the cast of Snow White, Chatham’s Christmas panto, are also due to be in attendance.
Next weekend, Gillingham and Rochester's lights will go on, with Rainham the following Friday.
