A warehouse fire broke out the town’s historic dockyards.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a property at Chatham Docks at 5.15pm this evening.

Three fire engines attended the blaze and crews extinguished the flames using hose reel jets and main jets, before using a high-pressured fan to clear the property of smoke.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.

The scene was cleared by 6.45pm.
