Fire crews called to Charles Street, Strood to reports of an 'explosion' and a fire which left a man burnt and needing treatment

A man is being treated for burns after a fire this afternoon.

Crews from Strood and Medway fire stations were called to a tyre business on Charles Street.

The initial call at 12.45pm was to "reports of an explosion".

When crews arrived they dealt with a small fire which is now out.
