Residents are being asked to stay in doors and keep their windows shut due to a potential gas leak.
Fire crews were called to Old Church Road, in Burham, near Rochester at around 2.25pm this afternoon.
It is due to reports of a potential gas leak.
Two fire engines remain at the scene and Kent Police and gas safety engineers are also in attendance.
As a precaution, people living or working in the area are asked to keep their windows and doors closed while crews work at the scene.
The fire service is also asking resident to please share this advice with any neighbours or friends in the area, who might not have access to internet or social media.
