An old nag who fell over in her stable was given a helping hand by fire fighters when she couldn't get back up.
The 32-year-old horse fell and got stuck in the stable doorway.
She couldn't get up so emergency services were called.
Fire fighters from Medway fire station and the Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s (KFRS) specialist animal rescue team, based in Faversham, helped her to her feet.
She was later happily trotting around the field opposite her stable, in Lower Hartlip Road, Hartlip.
A spokesman for KFRS, said: “The horse, which was almost 33-years-old had got her head and her front legs outside of the stable, but the rest of her body was inside, she just couldn’t get up.
“What was needed was a lot of man power to push her out of her stable and to be able to get the ropes and strops around her.
“When she was clear of the stable door, the rescue team were then able to get her in the harness and stand her up.
“She’d been laying on the floor for quite some time so her back legs had gone numb, so each time we went to lift her and stand her up, her back legs buckled.
“But after several attempts at lowering her back down and then lifting her up, she eventually stood up on her own and before we knew it she was happily trotting around her paddock.
“It was quite and unusual job, but it was nice to see her back on her feet, it took about an hour for the feeling to come back in her legs enough for her to stand up.”
