A nightclub damaged by fire caused by an electrical fault during the Sweeps festival has had to re-arrange two events.

The weekly students' night held on Thursdays has now been re-arranged to be staged at Amadeus in Strood. A kick-boxing tournament, due to be staged on Sunday, will also be staged at the same venue.

The event on Sunday, called Graduation Day, is American and British kickboxers pitched against one another.

Shuttle buses will be running for customers every 15 minutes from the Rochester nightclub to Medway Valley Leisure Park in Chariot Way.

Police closed Corporation Street between the junctions of Gas House Road and the High Street to allow fire crews to deal with the incident last Monday, May 4.

Ten pumps from across Kent helped deal with the blaze. No-one was injured.
