Six fire engines were called to a Medway pub after fire broke out this afternoon, Sunday.

The alarm was raised at 2.25pm after smoke was spotted in the cellar by staff at the Jolly Knight in Rochester High Street.

The pub was evacuated but no-one was hurt.

The building, which is near to the castle, filled with smoke.

The fire was quickly brought under control, but firefighters are still at the scene checking the building.
