Firefighters have been tackling yet another haystack blaze fewer than 24 hours after one broke out in the same area.
On Saturday night (Aug 25) crews from across Medway and other parts of the county were called out to Islingham Farm Road, Wainscott, where at least 150 tonnes of hay were alight.
They spent at least four hours bringing the blaze under control.
The bales were said to be stacked three high and 10 deep and a water unit from Larkfield was sent to the scene to supply crews with 14,000 litres of water.
Then at about 9pm on Sunday, (Aug 26) crews were again called out to the same area where they say at least another 192 tonnes of hay were alight on the same area of land.
At the height of the fire on Sunday night there were six appliances at the scene.
Crews from Medway, Hoo, Strood, Thames-side and Maidstone, spent hours tackling the blaze.
It is not clear how either the fires started, but this morning, (Mon, Aug 27) a crew were still at the site damping down the bales making sure the fire didn’t reignite.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it was “possible” the fires was started deliberately.
