Emergency crews are at the scene of a fire in Chatham High Street.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service has sent four pumps to with a bedroom fire in a property above the Hungry Eye restaurant in Chatham High Street.
They received a report just after 4pm that flames and smoke were seen billowing from a third floor bedroom window.
Three fire engines are on the scene, and crews wearing breathing apparatus are using hose reel jets and water from a hydrant to tackle the blaze on the third floor.
There are no reported casualties at this time.
The British Red Cross support unit and Kent Fire and Rescue Service's volunteer response team provided practical help to several families affected by a flat fire.
The blaze is believed to have started in a bedroom of the three storey property, but the cause is not yet known.
