Wigmore Fish Bar, Hoath Lane, Wigmore burgled

A man has spoke of his frustration after his shops were targeted in a spate of burglaries.

Amar Sheregill, known locally as Charlie, is the landlord of five shops in Wigmore.

Wigmore Fish Bar on Hoath Lane was broken into in the early hours of Thursday morning (March 7).

CCTV footage captured by Mr Sheregill shows the men who are suspected to have carried out the burglary behind Sherlodge Mews.

Mr Shergill has CCTV of three young men trying to gain access to the takeaway, along with Raj Rani Indian Takeaway, Woodside Estate Agent, Wigmore Organic Dry Cleaners and the newsagents on Wigmore Road.

According to Mr Sheregill, the door to the flat above the fish shop was also interfered with.

When the burglars broke in to the fish shop after trying to get in for just under two hours, an alarm was triggered, which alerted Mr Sheregill's phone.

He says that they stole a till draw, a charity box and change float totalling approximately £1,200.

Mr Sheregill said: "I had to waste one whole day trying to resolve this and buy a new till and replace broken or damaged doors, and check CCTV.

"We checked the CCTV and realised it was three people altogether, and they tried their hardest to be undetected, ducking, hiding behind walls, cars, alleyways, the lot, snooping around and avoiding cars driving past. However they could not avoid the CCTV."

The 34-year-old and his family have owned shops in the parade for more than 20 years.
