A road had to be closed when a flat in a block of nine was consumed by flames.
Fifteen firefighters were called out to the blaze in Saint Margaret's Street, Rochester, at 1.37pm today.
A flat on the second floor was well alight when they arrived.
All occupants were accounted for and there were no reported injuries.
Kent Police was called to manage the traffic near the property, as the road had to be closed during the incident.
The cause isn't known at this stage.
It took crews half an hour to bring the fire under control.
