This is just one of the rare items up for auction on Monday in a massive Gills memorabilia sale.
The New Brompton FC programme, the Gills’ previous team name, from 1909, is valued at between £180-200 but is expected to fetch much more.
Also included in the auction of more than 1,400 lots, is the shirt worn by Gills legend John Hodge at the 1999 play-off final against Manchester City, in which he scored the Gills’ only goal in a 3-1 penalty shoot out loss.
There are also hundreds of Gillingham programmes included in the sale, to start at 11am on Monday, March 1, at Stevenage Stadium, Broadhall Way, Stevenage or bidders can leave offers online.
The lots are being sold by two people, one a collector and another who inherited the programmes.
David Alexander, the director of the company selling the memorabilia on behalf of the two customers said: “We have already had some big offers for a programme for the Gills’ first ever FA Cup match against Linby Colliery and we’re hoping the rest will prove similarly interesting to bidders.
“I collect memorabilia myself but I have never seen this amount come up until recently. There are some very rare items in there with much of it never going to come up for sale again so this is a real opportunity for the fans.”
