A violent abuser who slapped and strangled his ex partner and accused her of hacking his phone has been jailed.
Foul-mouthed Sean Green repeatedly targeted his former partner over a three-month period in which he subjected her to several threats and even headbutted her on one occasion.
The 36-year-old, of Hempstead, near Gillingham, was sentenced after he admitted controlling and coercive behaviour and intentional strangulation when he appeared before Maidstone Crown Court last week.
He was also found guilty of actual bodily harm following a three-day trial.
The court heard how the violent thug targeted his former partner several times between September 1 and November 19.
During one argument, Green headbutted the victim and grabbed her around her neck, causing her to struggle for breath. He only stopped when a child in the property walked into the room.
In another attack he slapped her around her face and the police was called.
He was arrested and later bailed with conditions not to contact the victim, however he ignored these conditions and continued to contact her.
On November 18 he accused her of hacking his phone and bugging it. He then left her eight foul-mouthed voice messages threatening to hurt her before turning up at her address and shouting threats.
He was later arrested and following a subsequent investigation charged.
Last Friday he was jailed for two years and four months.
Green now has a seven-year restraining order preventing him from contacting his ex partner.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Saffron Underdown said: “Green subjected his former partner to frightening and violent behaviour during several incidents.
“Domestic abuse is taken extremely seriously by Kent Police and often victims feel isolated and scared and sometimes remain silent in the hope that their partner’s behaviour will change.
“We have specially trained officers who will work with victims in a sensitive and diligent manner, and I want to remind victims they are never alone.
