Some roads in Medway flooded this morning because of the heavy rainfall and one woman thinks there was a mini-tornado on her estate.
People reported manhole covers were raised from roads as some areas flooded because of the downpour.
Gill Martin managed to take these photos of the flooding in Darnley Road, Strood earlier.
Elsewhere, Bernadette Keane, 55, who lives in Leander Road, Rochester, on the Warren Wood estate said she suffered a mini-tornado during the freak downpour.
Mrs Keane, said: “I was sitting indoors with my three-year-old granddaughter and all of a sudden the rain came down really hard.
"I’ve got a big box which I keep at the bottom of my garden with tools in and it was about 10ft in the air.
“I thought it was going to come through the window, it was very frightening we ran into the hallway.
We could just hear a lot of banging it terrified me it only went on for about two minutes, but it was really frightening.
“My tree has gone from the bottom of the garden its in the road the fence has gone too we can’t even find it.
Some roof tiles have come off the roof of a neighbours house it was really very frightening.
“I had sort of a panic attack afterwards it really worried me.”
“It turned everything around as it was going everything was swirling around, I thought the windows were going to come in.”
“But it stopped as soon as it started.”
