A FREE condom scheme involving late-night taxi drivers will be launched in Medway next week.

Called Safe Ride Home, the scheme is promoted by the American condom firm Trojan, and is aimed at people out partying late at night.

Taxi drivers will be provided with condoms to distribute them to customers who ask for them.

A spokesman for Trojan said: “We’re launching the scheme in time for Christmas because that’s when people are likely to be out at parties meeting new people.

"It’s important that people protect themselves and their partners against sexually transmitted diseases.”
