Cat Cougar rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped in Gillingham ceiling void

Not many cougars in Medway can lay claim to being rescued by hero firefighters.

But that’s exactly what happened to one older moggy this week when he was saved by a whole team of them.

Ten-year-old Cougar met his rescuers earlier today when he got himself in to a spot of bother.

He somehow managed to get stuck in a ceiling void at his home in Gillingham.

Worried teen owner Harmony Aman, who lives in Canterbury Street, called firefighters for help after Cougar had been trapped for about 24 hours.

A crew from Medway were called out at about 10.30am to help rescue him and were able to locate him using a thermal imaging camera.

Firefighters were then able to cut away an area of the ceiling and watch manager, Benn Fletcher, was able to grab Cougar and pull him out of his predicament and reunited with his worried owner.
