Shadow chancellor George Osborne met workers at a generator firm this morning.
The Conservative toured MEMS Power Generation in Beechings Way, Gillingham.
He was with Rehman Chishti, the Tory candidate for Gillingham and Rainham.
The seat is being targeted by both Labour and the Conservatives as it is one of the most marginal in the country.
While at MEMS Mr Osborne met electrical engineer Danny George, of Beechings Way. The 32-year-old, who has worked for MEMS for seven years, said: "This hasn't been the usual day at work.
"I spoke to him about what the work I'm doing. He seems like a nice guy."
Mr Osborne also met with representatives from 14 businesses from across the Towns.
He is currently in Rochester High Street meeting shop owners and members of the public.
