Burglars targeted a supermarket in Gillingham in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

Staff arrived at the Co-op in Gillingham Road to discover the break-in.

The area was cordoned off until 10.40am while scene of crime officers carried out an investigation.

Manager Martin Divers said it was too early to say how much and what had been snatched.

He said: "Thankfully it happened overnight so nobody was around and most importantly nobody was hurt."
