Three-year-old Bethany Puplett is right to look upset - she was in tears after Halloween pranksters took the pumpkins she spent all day carving.

Bethany and her dad Mark, 36, went to Beluncle Farm in Hoo to pick three pumpkins themselves and carved their own designs into them.

But when trick-or-treaters came to their house in Seaview Road, Gillingham, the miniature works of art vanished.

Bethany’s mum Amanda, 30, pictured left, said: “My little girl, she’s only three bless her. She had given them all names.

“Someone would actually have had to come into our front garden to take them. They were probably used as footballs in the park.

“My little girl was absolutely distraught. This was supposed to be the first Halloween she could really enjoy.”

The pumpkins, nicknamed Spookley, Big Tom and Hello Kitty, vanished just after 8pm on Wednesday.

Mrs Puplett, a teaching assistant at Park Wood Juniors in Rainham, said she just wanted the thieves to feel guilty about what they had done.

“I didn’t report it to the police because to be honest I don’t think they would do anything about it,” she added.

“A friend reported a similar thing last year and they turned round and said she was wasting their time.”
