Adam Miller could be on the verge of leaving Gillingham permanently.
The midfielder is in discussions over either extending his loan move to League 2 side Dagenham and Redbridge or ending his contract with the Gills completely.
Miller, pictured, has already stated he no longer wants to play for Gillingham, insisting: "my time at Gillingham is done."
Gills boss Mark Stimson said: "I have spoken to him and he’s trying to sort something out with the chairman so he can sort out another loan or maybe get a settlement, which is possibly what Adam would like."
Miller admitted he wasn’t enjoying life at Gillingham after being dropped from the side and Stimson said he admired the player’s honesty.
"I expected Adam to say what he did because he’s telling the truth," said Stimson.
"Some of the fans appreciated him and others didn’t and he seemed to be the one who got the criticism more than others.
"His body language is not the best and he’s tried hard to change it. When he lost the ball he would beat himself up over it and stand there and get angry. I told him people don’t want to see that, they want to see you chasing back after the ball, so I can see both sides of it.
"He’s honest and some people are not and I favour those that are. I respect honesty and the best managers I played under were honest. He could have sat here and drawn his money."
