Sam Allardyce's Blackburn saw off Gills Carling Cup challenge in front of a crowd of more than 7,000 at Priestfield last night.
An early goal from David Dunn gave the visitor's team the half-time advantage and David Hoilett added a second early in the second half to dent Gillingham’s hopes of a cup upset.
Hoilett's fellow Canadian Simeon Jackson pulled one back from the penalty spot for the home side but Morten Pedersen hit back with a goal direct from a corner-kick just four minutes later.
