When a football fan found out he was going to be a dad, he concocted an extra-special way of announcing his news to friends and family.
Gillingham supporter Sean McHugh, from Herne Bay, took to Facebook to let friends know that a "New signing" would be announced shortly.
He later posted a Gills shirt featuring his name and scans, saying: "We are excited to announce that we have signed baby McHugh on a lifetime contract to the McHugh and Jordan family."
His girlfriend Amy Jordan tweeted the post which gained over 25,000 likes and even got the praise of the club itself and Sean's favourite player Barry Fuller.
The 26-year-old electrical engineer is a life-long member of the Gills faithful, having been born in Chatham.
Sean says it was a stroke of genius that made him come up with the creative idea.
The Ladyfields, Herne Bay resident, said: "I thought someone else had already done that but obviously not.
"We had the scan done on the day we posted it.
"We had to get the shirt printed and we asked so many people to do it."
The couple went to Bay Embroidery in Sea Street to get 'McHugh' printed on the shirt.
Sean said: "They closed at 5pm but they stayed behind to do it which was nice of them."
Amy, a teaching assistant from Riverview, Gravesend, was shocked at the response the news has received.
The 21-year-old said: "I didn't expect him to be that involved with announcing it but when he said it, it made sense because he's all about football."
Amy, who works at Langafel CofE Primary School in Longfield, used to play football and Sean plays for Tankerton, who are in division three of the Kent League.
The couple regularly attend matches together.
No doubt their baby, who is due in March next year, will be a keen footballer.
