A charity is helping support people by supplying them with essential items.
The Salvation Army in Chatham has set up a Bags of Hope scheme to support the work of the Medway Foodbank.
The Medway Foodbank closed its centres at the end of last week in favour of a delivery service.
The Salvation Army's centre in Church Street began offering its new service yesterday on Monday.
The centre will be open on Mondays and Fridays between 10.30am and 1pm. Each bag contains 15 essential items.
Leader of the branch Ian Payne said: "Our sleeves are rolled up and we are giving hope, bags of it, to our community which is in need."
Donations of non-perishable items will also be welcomed.
As of Friday, April 24, Medway Council had made 2,432 deliveries of food parcels to 3,637 people as part of the authority's response to help people amid the coronavirus lockdown.
The Salvation Army in Gillingham has also been running a scheme to help the vulnerable during this time.
