Four men charged after 23 homes in Gravesend and Medway burgled

A group of suspected burglars have been charged after 23 homes were broken into over a four-month period.

Between September 15 and December 31 jewellery, cash and designer clothes were stolen from multiple break-ins across north Kent.

Multiple investigations were carried out by detectives after homes in Gravesend and Medway were targeted.

Three men were arrested on January 3 and January 4, with a fourth detained yesterday.

Alan Byrne, 56, of Middle Park Avenue, Eltham, Greater London, Gary Byrne, 51, of Booth Close, Thamesmead and Craig McCabe, 32, of Wodehouse Road, Dartford, were later charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

All three appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on January 5. Alan Byrne and Gary Byrne were remanded and while McCabe was given conditional bail to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on February 2.

Kieran McCabe, 22, also of Booth Close, Thamesmead, was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and was remanded to appear before Medway Magistrate’s court today.
