A popular health and beauty store in Gillingham will be closing down next month and staff who work there will be relocated to other stores.
The Superdrug store in the High Street will stop trading on Saturday, June 10, and staff will be offered roles within the company at other locations.
The health and beauty giant has more than 800 stores across the UK selling everything from toothpaste and baby wipes to fragrances.
One woman, who works in the town but didn’t want to be named, said: “I went in the other day and a worker told me their last day of trading was June 10.
"It is such a shame.
“I shop in there regularly. I will have to go to the Hempstead Valley or Chatham stores now.”
A spokesman for the company said: “Superdrug can confirm plans to close its Gillingham High Street store on 10th June.
“All colleagues have been offered other roles within the group.
“We’d like to thank all our customers for their support over the years and hope to see them in our Chatham store in the future.”
