Have you seen a white Audi SUV jumping queuing traffic on the Medway City Estate?

Drivers trying to get off the estate have faced regular evening traffic jams on Sir Thomas Longley Road for weeks as a result of roadworks.

But one driver has repeatedly shown contempt for fellow motorists - and the rules of the road - by driving for long stretches down the wrong side of the road to jump the queue.

At one point last week, a lorry had to stop when the SUV driver failed to force his way fully back into the queue and was left blocking the oncoming carriageway.

The lorry driver explained, as the embarrassed driver tried to edge out of the way, that he'd seen the same car attempt similar dangerous manoeuvres on several occasions.

Police say they have had not had any reports, but the car has also been observed by the Medway Messenger on more than one occasion.

There may be light at the end of the tunnel for Medway City Estate motorists as Southern Gas Networks are reopening Banks Road in Strood for four hours a day to ease congestion.

From today the bottom part of the road with its junction with Station Road is being opened to traffic from 3pm to 7pm to help workers leaving the Strood industrial estate to get home quicker.
