The competition to win a fantastic safe play area for a school or nursery steps up a gear this week.
We have teamed up with Specialised Sport Products to offer this wonderful prize, which will see one school in the county win a new all-weather safe play area for its pupils.
Tokens have appeared in the Medway Messenger over the past four weeks but in today's edition is a bonus token, worth five points.
The school collecting the most tokens (on a pro rata basis, compared to their pupil headcount) will win.
The school coming second gets £1,500 of vouchers to spend on play area improvements. The third placed school will receive £500 in vouchers.
The Medway six in contention are:
-Wendy House Pre-school in Sturdee Avenue, Gillingham: They want to finish developing an outside area that has been started by supportive parents.
- Barnsole Infant School, also in Sturdee Avenue, Gillingham: The school would involve the children in decisions about the play area if it won.
- Horsted Infant School, Barberry Avenue, Chatham: It needs a makeover for its playground
- Fairview Fledglings Nursery, in Fairview School, Drewery Drive, Wigmore: This small group doesn't have enough financial resources to do what it dreams of.
- Phoenix Education Day Nursery, Whitewall Road, Medway City Estate, Strood: Winning the safe play area would make its existing outdoor space a more colourful and interactive area for the children.
- St John's Infant School, New Street, Chatham: Pupils have set their heart on having a climbing frame but needs a soft play area to make it safe.
Specialised Sport Products is one of the country's leading providers of play surfaces. Its products provide a safe, colourful, soft surface to give children the freedom to play.
