A high street fashion retailer is set to close one of its Kent stores.
According to prominent signs in its windows, the branch of Peacocks at the Dockside Outlet Centre in Chatham will close on Saturday, October 26.
The clothing chain, which is promoted by brand ambassadors Louise Redknapp and Michael Owen, is offering shoppers an extra 30% off marked prices in a closing down sale.
Peacocks is one of a number of fashion retailers located at the Dockside shopping mall, including M&S Outlet and Moss Bros.
The store earmarked for closure currently trades seven days a week.
Earlier this year, outdoor clothing brand Regatta also opted to vacate its unit at the outlet centre, closing for the final time in February.
Speaking at the time, a spokesman for the firm said: “Regatta did not take the decision to close the store at Chatham’s Dockside Outlet Centre lightly.
“The closure comes following challenging footfall in the centre and to coincide with the store lease coming to an end.”
In March, Peacocks closed its store at the County Square shopping centre in Ashford.
It is not yet known if jobs will be lost as a result of the closure of the Peacocks store, or whether staff will be transferred to the chain’s remaining stores in other parts of the county.
Peacocks has been approached for comment.
