Part one of the final season of The Crown, which was partially filmed in Kent, has begun streaming today.
Earlier this year, star Dominic West was spotted in Medway filming for the Netflix show which saw Rochester High Street transformed into the streets of Windsor.
West, known for his role in The Wire and The Affair, is playing King Charles, with Olivia Williams portraying Camilla.
Season six of the royal drama series begins today, on November 16.
It will be followed by the second installment next month, on December 14.
In April, West was filmed getting in and out of a Rolls Royce outside the Guildhall and R Bar in Rochester.
The area had undergone a movie makeover for filming of scenes from King Charles and Camilla’s wedding, which happened on April 9, 2005.
Speaking at the time, one woman from the town, who did not wish to be named, said: “I was walking through the high street yesterday afternoon and there’s ‘Congratulations Charles and Camilla’ on the windows and a wedding cake in another shop window and one man was painting Union Jacks.”
Cheran’s Bakery, which opened in the former Love Brownies shop, is one of the stores that had been transformed.
While the filming was taking place, Anke Hatch from Capture the Castle, a gift shop along the other end of the High Street, shared her excitement.
She said: “It's exciting, it's good for the high street, it's creating a lot of buzz.
“I'm a big fan of The Crown, I've watched all of it and I'll be watching this series too.”
Anke explained the filming had been “well organised” and that businesses were warned three months before the project was shot.
The high street shops had been given new names, with one rebranded ‘Nancy’s Cakes of Windsor’ and another reading ‘De Farge & Manette’.
As a result of the cast and crew using the high street as a set, the road was closed until 8pm on April 21.
