The public are being given the chance to explore a Navy patrol vessel when HMS Blazer visits Chatham for the first time this weekend.
The ships adds to the Royal Navy support of the Ocelot celebrations at The Historic Dockyard on Saturday, commemorating the 50 anniversary of the launch of HM submarine, the last warship built for the Royal Navy at Chatham Dockyard. To read our preview of the event, click here.
Scheduled to arrive at 4pm today (Friday) HMS Blazer will be berthed in Chatham Maritime Marina at the eastern end of Basin 1.
At 2.45pm on Saturday afternoon the vessel, flying a large white ensign, will take up position in the River Medway adjacent to Ocelot's dock for the parade and salute in The Historic Dockyard.
Following the salute HMS Blazer will return to Chatham Maritime Marina and be open to the public from 4pm to 5.30pm and 7pm to 8.30pm on Saturday, then again 10.30am to 1pm on Sunday. Access will be adjacent to the bridge to St Mary’s Island.
HMS Blazer will depart Chatham Maritime at 3pm on Sunday.
